Red Spinel Necklace

The spinels in this 18 inch necklace are smooth 2.5mm round beads. They are wire wrapped in 18k yellow gold with a hook and eye clasp that features a round brilliant 0.01ct Diamond. This necklace could easily accommodate a pendant or be worn alone.

Red spinel was thought to be ruby until about 150 years ago. Many of the red stones in crown jewels are in fact spinel. Spinel is the 3 hardest gemstone on Mohs’ hardness scale.
